Join Mary Farhi, MD, FACOG, ABIHM, RYT in an exploration of the concept that the human body is genetically programmed for wellness, not disease. We will specifically explore the continuum of wellness in terms of optimal glucose levels for wellness versus the diagnosis of diabetes. We will discuss symptoms that may indicate a system out of balance to assist in identifying patients that may be at risk of diabetes due to insulin resistance. We will review the concept of mindfulness in encouraging patients to become aware of the physical sensations that might signal insulin resistance.


  • Define concept of wellness and discuss concepts of diabetes, insulin resistance and optimal glucose levels for our body.
  • Explore how to shift our awareness from diagnosing and treating disease (ie diabetes) to creating wellness.
  • Identify symptoms that may be a sign of glucose imbalance
