A Weekend Workshop: Mindful eating is a practice that involves bringing one’s full attention to all the tastes, smells, thoughts and feelings that arise around eating and food. When we learn to be present and aware it can help us bring forward the natural joy of eating once again and develop a more compassionate attitude towards our critical mind and our body.

Mindfulness can deepen through the exploration of our relationship to eating and food and provide an opportunity to see more clearly the connection of body, mind and heart. It can also be a vehicle for bringing awareness to and through the senses as to how, when, where, what and why we eat.

The structure of the weekend will include eating exercises, discussions and simple guided mindfulness meditations to help us look at our habits with food and to connect with our body’s innate wisdom of hunger and satisfaction. Emphasis is placed on practical ways of integrating mindfulness and mindful eating into your everyday life

Facilitators: Char Wilkins, MSW, LCSW and Jan Chozen Bays, MD
