Mindfulness therapies, such as yoga, have gained momentum in the therapeutic community. Yoga is being used more frequently than ever before in treatments for eating disorders and disordered eating in a variety of settings. Integrating yoga as an adjunct to traditional treatments modalities for eating disorders and disordered eating can be highly effective. Yoga and yoga therapy tools and techniques will be presented.

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe the elements of Mindfulness-Based Yoga and how it can be integrated into treatment protocols for eating disorders and disordered eating.

2. Discuss the benefits of mindfulness-based yoga for an individual who struggles with an eating disorder or disordered eating.

3. Describe how mindfulness-based yoga can be integrated with traditional treatment for eating disorders and disordered eating.


Beverly S. Price is an author, international presenter and healthcare consultant. She is a certified eating disorder specialist, International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Foundation (IAEDP) Approved Supervisor and International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) Certified Yoga Therapist recognized for her mindfulness Yoga-based eating disorder recovery programs, along with Yoga training programs in eating disorders for professionals. Beverly has created, cultivated and sold various healthcare businesses. In her career, she has also consulted with healthcare entities who wish to maximize their bottom line.
