Community Practices

These guided practice sessions are led by mindfulness and mindful eating professionals.  Each session is 45 - 60 minutes long and consists of a short introduction, guided practice, and concluding discussion. Participants are invited to use their webcam and be visible to other participants, but are welcome to simply participate by audio only, or simply listen. These practice sessions are open to everyone. For participants who are not members of TCME, we ask for a donation to cover the costs of running the program.

    La meditación cultiva la atención y nos ayuda a tomar conciencia de los pensamientos, sentimientos y todos los sentidos, sin juicio. Alienta la curiosidad y cultiva la compasión, proporcionando así una base de presencia para la alimentación consciente.

    El centro de Alimentación Consciente se ha comprometido a desarrollar una comunidad que comparta la visión mencionada y crear un tiempo y espacio seguros para profundizar tu práctica de meditación junto con personas que tienen los mismos intereses que tú.

    Durante los próximos meses Cuca Azinovic compartirá con la comunidad diversas meditaciones que nos ayuden a crear este espacio de práctica y cultivo de la atención plena y el amor bondadoso. Cada mes habrá una práctica diferente con el fin de ayudarte a que encuentres tu propia práctica base de meditación con la que trabajar. 

    Estas sesiones de meditación están diseñadas para cualquier persona interesada en aprender a meditar o profundizar en la práctica de meditación existente.

    ABOUT THE PRACTICE

    An opportunity to practice mindful eating in community. Participants will come prepared with a meal or snack chosen to satisfy their hunger. The one- hour group includes guided invitations to cue back into one’s senses during the entire eating process with time to process the experience.

    Please note this is not a substitute for professional mindful eating intervention.  This is a taste of mindful eating practice for those interested in learning more.

    About Your Registration

    Members may enroll in the Conscious Cafe Series which runs through December 2020 on the 1st Tuesday of the month. While anyone may attend, registering for the series each year allows you, as a member, to easily join any of the monthly sessions throughout the year. You will receive a monthly reminder a few days before each session begins. 

    About the Host

    Alice J. Rosen, MSEd, LMHC, is the founder of "The No-Diet and Self-Led Eating Workshops" and "The Conscious Cafe'. She is a faculty member of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy, a Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist, and former Director of Education for "Feeding Ourselves (SM)".

    Join us for our monthly online community meditation! Meditation cultivates attention and awareness of thoughts, feelings, and all the senses without judgment. It encourages curiosity and cultivates compassion, thus providing a foundation for mindful eating. 

    The Center for Mindful Eating is committed to developing a community that shares the common goal of increasing awareness and compassion. We want to create a protected time and space where you can learn to meditate, or deepen your existing practice, in the company of like-minded people. 

    * Meditation is generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, however it may be held on the 4th Wednesday of the month due to scheduling conflicts.

    ABOUT YOUR REGISTRATION
